What I learned in class today…

Career Killers: things you do that may not be challenged by a supervisor, but can kill your career

  • Allow the quality of your program to go down when you leave the job (aka “don’t groom a successor”)
  • Blame staff for something you are responsible for.
  • Send out new policies via email, instead of meeting with people to make sure it is understood.
  • Don’t do evaluations on time.
  • Do other work at meetings.
